Day in Oxford
We decided to visit Oxford, which is not too far from Cambridge. We both have no courses on Friday so let's go to adventure! So we took the bus at 6'30 in the morning for 3 hours and a half!! Oxford is lacated in the south west of Cambridge.
The Center is lovely with tipic english shops which sells candies or bags made of special tissues. Every thing was so cute!
Oxford is pretty similar as Cambridge, with old buildings and lots of colleges. After having taken our breakfast there, we decided to find a visit tour but it costed 8 pounds and we weren't so motivated. Fortunalty, we found another tour guide, just by chance, for free. So we walked during two hours in Oxford where the guide told us stories of the city, or habits in college.
In fact, colleges like in Cambridge are not linked so students can apply for more than one. During the Middle Age, some little private school were created, and they belonged to religious. With time, each one became a college, where students live. Colleges are beautiful, they seems to be castles!
The guide explained us students have to wear special uniform for their exams, with suit and tie. First year students have to attach to their suit a red rose, second year students a pink one and third year students a white one. Without that, they can't take their exams, that's just amazing!
The picture juste below is a huge library, and at the right side it's a wonderful building, the art museum where Newton explained his radioactivity theory. The third picture is the door of a college, beautiful isn't it?
